Grooming your Rabbit!

Most people tell me,"Oh, I'm gonna get a rabbit that doesn't need to be brushed!" But the truth is, every rabbit needs to be groomed in one way or another. Twice a year (in Spring & Fall), your rabbit goes into what is called a "molt". Molting is another word for sheding. Anyway, when rabbits molt, they usually look really silly! They have-a-half-a-head-o-hair, and their loose fuz flys everywhere! Sence everybody nows that rabbits preen themselves often, lets say that your bunny desides to do just that. She starts to lick herself. At the same time, she is actually injesting amounts of her fur. If the amounts are large enough, she may trigger "wool block" (or a fur ball), in her digestive system. This is a serious symptom and often causes death, but it may be prevented if you groom your rabbit (long or short hair) often. If you are like me and have a long haired rabbit like: a Jersey Wooly (like the rabbit pictured above), American Fuzzy Lop, English Angora, French Angora, Satin Angora, or Giant Angora, you know you have to have a nice slicker & under coat rake. But lets just reveiw.

If you have a short/long haired bunny, what rabbit supplies do you need?

Where do you want to go?
