We have a serious update this time! The game is now playable as
a beta. The menus are 99% functional; the gameplay is 99.99% functional. And
the sound is much better than before. Take note that all enemies in version
1.0 are working correctly, and this includes the boss.
Other features: The game now has a high score list for each group file that
you play. There are also character slots that you can save to and load from.
There is even a cut scene at the end when you beat up Spew Moni!
I am finally ready for beta testers, level designers, and backdrop designers
to show me their stuff. Inquire within--visit the beta testing link at the
bottom of the page!

Got the game? Good. Did you want an update? You got it!
I've made a lot of changes in the game since the last posting. The Alpha
Version now has a much better menu interface. Not all the menu items work yet,
but it should be much easier to use than the last version. Also, I've reworked
the drawing and collision logic; clipping errors should be less frequent if they
are not eliminated entirely. And the really stupid bug that causes the game
to crash when Spew Moni appears has been fixed. Several other minor changes (that
I won't mention here) should also improve the "look" of the game.
A consequence of all these changes is that sound programming has faltered. I've
temporarily deactivated it until I can (a) improve the gameplay, and (b) get
some more sound effects! There are only four in the game right now, and they
haven't even been filtered properly. With time, I'll put in more sounds.

The time has come! I celebrate on this day the grand opening of
the Alpha Version posting. It is now available on the downloads
page.
This trial period is very important to the outlook of this game.
Any comments you have about the game will factor into the final design
more significantly than any other time during the development cycle.
Write to me at
chriskallen1@yahoo.com
to give feedback.
Because the Alpha Version is a free download, and also because it is a
preliminary version, I hope this feedback will not be too harsh. The
menu display is shoddy and the sound is only experimental right now.
I am actively working on improving both.
