OBITUARY- ANDREW HOUSTON MARS
"Andrew H. Mars, Banker, Dies in Brooklyn at 53; Was Organizer and Vice-President of Fidelity Trust Co.- Andrew Houston Mars, vice-president and one of the organizers of the Fidelity Trust Company of New York, died at his home, 37 Montgomery Place, Brooklyn, following a prolonged illness, on Wednesday, in his fifty-third year. He was widely known in banking circles of the metropolitan district, having passed forty years in that field.
Born in Bellvale, N.Y., on September 6, 1873, Mr. Mars came to New York when thirteen, taking his first position, in 1866, with the Park National Bank, and later with the Bank of the Republic. In 1902 he became secretary of the Hudson Trust Company, of Hoboken, and four years later secretary of the Home Trust Company, of Brooklyn.
With a group of associates he organized the Fidelity Trust Company of New York in 1907, becoming its secretary. He was promoted to be vice-president, a post which he held at the time of his death. He was a member of the Montauk Club, the Huntington Country Club, of Huntington, L.I., and the Whitehall Club.
His wife, Mrs. Florence Hardie Mars, and two daughters, Miss Violet H. and Miss Gladys L. Mars, survive him. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the residence. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery."

"RESOLUTIONS, MARS- The Board of Directors of the Fidelity Trust Company of New York desires to place on its minutes its sincere appreciation of the life and services of ANDREW H. MARS, who was an officer of this company since its incorporation in 1907, and who passed away on April 7, 1926.
Andrew H. Mars was born in the town of Bellevale, Orange County, N.Y., and came to New York City at the early age of 13. He first obtained employment in 1886 in the National Park Bank and later went with the National Bank of the Republic. Through his diligent attention to business he qualified himself for more important responsibilities, and in 1902 he was elected assistant secretary of the Hudson Trust Company of Hoboken, N.J. In 1906 he was appointed secretary of the Home Trust Company in Brooklyn, whose services he left to become identified with the Fidelity Trust Company, of which he became secretary and later vice president. This position he held at the time of his death. He possessed a most pleasing personality, was beloved by his friends and highly respected by all who knew him.
To his widow, Mrs. Florence H. Mars, and to his daughters we extend the assurance of our most profound sympathy for them in their bereavement and direct that an engrossed copy of this minute be forwarded to them in expression of the deep affection held for Mr. Mars by his fellow officers and by his friends on this board."
