OBITUARY- LILLELOUS DONALD DEGRAW
"OBITUARY- Mrs. Lilleous DeGraw. Mrs. Lilleous Degraw, widow of John Degraw, died at the home of her grandson, Frank L. Wagner, at Bellvale, Tuesday morning, in her 89th year.
Mrs. Degraw, she was a daughter of William Degraw, of Goshen, was born at Greenwood Lake and had resided in Orange county all her life. Her husband died 20 years ago. She is survived by the following children: Cooper, John and Thomas Degraw of this city; James DeGraw of Goshen; Ann, wife of Stephen Mars of Florida; and Lilleous, wife of Augustus Waymer of Bellvale. The eldest son, William, died at Paterson, N.J., a month ago, and the following children died some years ago; Robert, Stephen, Jacob, Edward, and Amy. Mrs. DeGraw is also survived by a brother, Archibald Donnal of Horseheads; and one sister, Mrs. Hannah Hyatt of Paterson, N.J.
The deceased was a most excellent woman, proving herself a devoted wife and mother, and discharging conscientiously and faithfully the duties of life. For more than sixty years she was a consistent member of the M.E. church, at Greenwood Lake, and all who knew her recognized her sterling Christian qualities.
She resided in this city with her children for several years
previous to a year and a half ago, and until she met with an injury from a
fall was an attendant at church whenever the weather would permit. The injury
she sustained made her an invalid from the time of the accident until her
death, but her mental faculties remained unimpaired even to the close of life."
