It is better to view the moon when not full, as the terminator will be
gone. It is best to view the moon with a moon filter in a 4.5 inch scope, as the moon will be
bright, and if deep sky hunting while the moon is out, will ruin your night vision.
The moon has many special features such as a lunar eclipse when the moon turns a "blood" red.
