Rules are simple - so are the consequences of not abiding by them.
1) First and foremost, this will be a free-form RPG. There are no stats or dice rolls. IF necessary, and I doubt it ever will be, the GM will make the ultimate decision when it comes to life or death situations.
2) You must make an action within the game at least once a week. If you can't get a post in for that week, at least email the GM. That way you won't be taken out of the game, putting your character on the NPC (non-playable character) list. If after two (2) weeks, I havenīt received any news from you, your character is forfeit, and you are out of the game till the next mission.
3) Beginner players can join as well as experienced players.
4) You MUST know something about the character you are playing. If you don't, look it up. Like I said before, there are lots of Suicide Squad fans out there, and if you're playing their favorite character in a manner that the character would not act - well, it makes for a poor read.
5) Flaming, trolling, etc, is grounds for expulsion. It's just a game, so if you think Joe Blow is doing a crappy job of Boomerbutt, too bad. Friendly advice in the OOC Forum might be helpful, but don't start ragging on poor Joe just because he don't play like our favorite Aussie the way you think he should.
6) Don`t take it too seriously. It`s an RPG, not real life. Just have fun with it. Otherwise, it's not worth my time or anybody else's and the game gets shut down.
7) Other characters from the DC Universe are welcome, though we would like to keep it closer to the characters from the comic book series.
8) We do NOT take characters that you create yourself. When you give a character background of a different DC character (should you wish not to be one of the excellent members from the series) you must list all strengths and weaknesses. No god-like characters will be accepted.
That aside, keep in mind that any character that happens to be in prison will be fitted with explosive bracelets throughout the mission. If you're unsure as to what that means, then I guess I'll have to fill you in.
The bracelet is fitted to your arm (specifically your wrist) and is geared to explode if one of three things occur:
- You try to take it off or tamper with it
- You get to far out of range of the Team Leader, who has the device that controls your bracelet attached to his wrist, or
- You piss the Team Leader off enough that he/she warrants it justifiable to activate the explosive.
The bracelet is also designed to give the wearer an electric jolt for warning purposes. The damage of the explosion varies from simply taking your arm off (ask Slipknot about that) to right out killing you. I don't recommend trying to test the borders of its range either! Oh, and if you're a DC Universe character not from the original series (Ostrander Series) than expect to be fitted with a bracelet.
Character Application is pretty easy. Like mentioned before, you must have background knowledge of the character you choose to be. There are lots of Suicide Squad fans out there, and it would be a real shame to read about a favorite character who is really - well... out of character. So, know the background, know their nuances, know their peeves and fetishes. This is a role-playing game, so make sure you're playing like you're really that character.
