Describing whether a glass of liquid is half empty or half full is an old way of
testing whether a person is a natural optimist or pessimist. But how would the
Sailor Senshi fare on such a test?
Sailor Moon: Usagi would ask you to repeat the question, giggle, then be
distracted by something outside and wander over to the window before you could
ask again.
Sailor Mercury: Ami would calculate that the glass was forty-nine point five
seven eight two percent full, then tell you the molecular weight, atomic mass
and chemical composition of the liquid, the glass and any trace elements in the
liquid.
Sailor Venus: Minako would say the glass is half full. Then she would become
enamored by her reflection in the glass.
Sailor Mars: Rei would say the glass is half empty, then promptly accuse Usagi
of drinking the missing half.
Sailor Jupiter: Makoto would say the glass is half full. Then she would notice
water spots on the glass, take it into the other room and wash it.
Sailor Saturn: Hotaru would say the glass is half full. Then, Mistress Nine
would disagree and say the glass is half empty.
Sailor Uranus: Haruka would say the question was stupid. If pressed, she would
admit that the glass was half empty. Then she would muse that she had no right
to expect a full glass and, ultimately, such things were meaningless.
Sailor Neptune: Michiru would say the glass is half empty. Then she would
listen to the water in the glass and gets its impression of whether it was half
full or half empty.
Sailor Pluto: Setsuna would say the glass is half empty, but that she could also
sense a time when it was full, when it will be empty, when the glass will
disintegrate from age, and when the world will cease to be from entropy. Then
she would smile wistfully.
Sailor Chibi-Moon: Chibi-Usa would say she prefers Kool-Aid. Sailor Moon would
then tell her to stop being a brat and answer the question, and a huge argument
would ensue.
Maybe it's better we don't ask.
End.
