V-2 Rocket Cover¹

This early shipboard V-2 rocket test was launched from the USS Midway's flight deck on September 6, 1947, near Bermuda, and was a classified rocket test. It was the first test of its kind from a moving platform. It is presumed that this cover is a post flight cover for the ship's return to port in Norfolk, Virginia, five days later.
