Where Have

I Been

Where have I been? You may have asked?
For me to tell this story is a dreadful
task.
 
Do you really want to know, or are you just
being polite?
The story begins in darkness, where this is
no light.
 
It begins with a child that never asked to
be born,
She soon learns throughout her life, she will
be scorned.
 
She's taken from her Mommy at the age of 4,
In her heart it feels, like the slamming of
a door.
 
She's with her Daddy, she should always feel
safe.
Till Daddy touches her and she loses her
faith.
 
Then Daddy's touches turns into penetrations,
Never again, will she be able to keep her
concentration.
 
She finally finds the courage to stand up
and tell,
She's casted out of the family and casted
into hell.
 
She lives in the streets not knowing what
to do,
She takes a lot of drugs and drinks a lot of
booze.
 
She learns how to cheat, she learns how to
lie,
She learns how to fight in order to survive.
 
She trusts no one from the start,
People are no good, they are only here to
break your heart.
 
She finally meets someone who really cares
and always listens.
So she learns to open her heart and let them
in.
 
That friend led her to others, who taught her
how to see,
That being alone, she would never again have  
to be.
 
She learns within each darkness, there is always
a light.
In order to find the glow, you must put up a
struggling fight.
 
In the end, she finds it's been worth it all,
Because she can finally hold her head up and  
stand up tall.
