Religion: Mel is a devout and traditional Catholic Family: Mel was married in 1980 to a nurse named Robyn and their last son, Tommy, was born in 1999. Career: Mel only took up acting only because his sister submitted an application behind his back (and let's thank the Lord she did!) Roomies: Did you know that Mel Gibson and Geoffrey Rush were once roommates? They also performed together in the 1979 stage production of Beckett's Waiting for Godot. Hear Mel speak!
