The Atlanta Thrashers have recently changed their farm team affiliates. They have changed if from the Orlando Solar Bear to the Chicago Wolves. The reason is that the IHL (International Hockey League) and AHL (American Hockey League) have merged leagues into only one the AHL. The Orlando Solar Bear were a part of the IHL and when the leagues merged the Solar Bear did not merge and no longer exist. Now the Atlanta Thrashers had to sign an affiliate with a team from the AHL and they signed with the 1998 and 2000 Turner Cup Champions the Chicago Wolves. The farm team will hold most of the players from the Solar Bear, so that the Wolves will be very competitive and compete for the championship and 1st place overall among all farm teams in the CTCHL. The team has a lot of depth and has stars like Adam Hall, Mathieu Garon, Adam Mair, Kris Beech, Chuck Kobasew, Alexander Polushin, Justin Papineau, Brad Tapper, Henrik Tallinder, and more prospects looking for a shot.
