Jason Arnott

Height: 6-4
Weight: 220 lbs
Position: Centre
Born: February 11, 1974, Collingwood, Ontario
Drafted: Selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1st round (7th overall) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

Jason Arnott came to Atlanta from Phoenix where he got traded along with Chuck Kobasew for Viktor Kozlov and Trent Hunter as well as a draft pick. Arnott provides a strong centre that is big, strong, skilled, gritty, experienced, offensively as well as defensively aware and smart. He will be reunited with Petr Sykora where he formed one of the best lines in the NHL at the time in New Jersey. The Atlanta Thrashers were looking to improve down the middle and although Kozlov had been great defensively he was not scoring and Jason Arnott looked like a better fit. Arnott now gives the Thrashers a solid 1-2 punch with himself and Patrick Marleau. Arnott uses his size to create chances and is not afraid to get dirty. He is experience and has won the Stanley Cup before and knows what it takes to win it again.
