If Mathieu Garon pans out as he is supposed to, the Atlanta Thrashers have themselves a potential future number one goalie. Mathieu Garon is a very good young goaltender and maybe one of the better goaltending prospects in the game of hockey. Drafted in the 2nd round in the 1996 draft, Garon has taken a while to develop, but most goalies tend to. Most goalies reach their potential at the age of 7, and Garon still has a lot of time left. Being one of the older prospects in the game, Garon will get a taste of the CTCHL more quickly than all the other CTCHL goalie prospects. He has already played in the CTCHL his first year with the Montreal Canadiens as he played in 7 games. He then was traded to the Atlanta Thrashers for Yves Sarault, which was a genious move by the Atlanta general manager and has been the number 1 goalie on the Atlanta Thrashers farm team.
