Ray Ferraro came to Atlanta at the 2002-2003 season's trade deadline along with Doug Gilmour to provide the team with much needed leadership and experience. The team was having a terrible slump and was in total turmoil. The team eventually did not make the playoffs but everything got straightened out. The team learned valuable experience from Ray Ferraro who has been around hockey for many years. Ferraro helped many forwards in Atlanta learn how to survive and improve in the CTCHL. After the 2002-2003 season, Ray Ferraro retired, making Atlanta the last team he played for. A lot of players have learned a lot from Ray over the years and Ray may someday take up coaching, as he is a very intelligent person. Ray Ferraro will for sure be back working with hockey.
