Simon Gagne came to the Atlanta Thrashers along with Todd Fedoruk and Roman Vopat for Andrew Brunette, Dean Sylvester and Stephen Guolla before the first CTCHL season started. At the age of 20 he had shown signs of brilliance. A 6 foot left wing he is the pride of Ste. Foy, Quebec, Canada. He was drafted in the first round 22nd ov by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. As a rookie for Philadelphia 1999-2000, he played all 80 games and came 4th in rookie scoring behind Mike York, Alex Tanguay and rookie of the year Scott Gomez. That year he scored 20 goals assisted on 28 more and racked up 48 points with a plus 11 rating. He is a top 2 left wing in Atlanta. Heatley and Gagne is a great 1-2 Left wing punch. He can be a consistant 30 or 40 goal scorer and rack up 40 or 50 more assists some time very soon.
