Steve Staios is one of the original Thrashers. He has not yet been traded. He is now the captains for the Thrashers. He is very experienced and has great leadership and that is why he is an alternate captain. He is also a former acquaintance to general manager Brian Blake. He met Brian Blake before coming to Atlanta, when Steve Staios was still on Vancouver. He is good offensively and even better defensively, playing both right wing and defence. He first came in to the league as a right winger. With not much success there, Staios moved to become a defenseman and is now considered a very good defensive defenseman. He will lead this team with leadership, experience and example. He plays a physical game, and is also not afraid to drop the gloves if needed.
