Sebastian Telfair

5'10" 150 High School So. PG

Strengths: Wise beyond his years, Telfair has already became a national name. Has enormous potential even though he is undersized. Superb court vision and quickness. Leads the break, like a college senior. Makes a lot of spectacular plays on the court. Can get into the paint at will and is very good at getting to the basket and the free throw line. Despite his small size, he finishes in the paint well. Dominated top HS senior point guards Raymond Felton, Sean Dockery and Anthony Robertson at Adidas’s ABCD camp this summer.

Weaknesses: At only 5’11”, he is small for an NBA point guard. However, still only a rising sophomore Telfair will have plenty of time to grow and if he does watch out. Has to work on his outside jump shot. Needs to develop a mid-range jumper so he doesn’t have to force plays when he gets into the pain. Must learn to play with lesser teammates and teammates that don’t have a feel for his game. Has a tendency to play out of control at times. Needs to be more consistent on the court.

Outlook: Telfair has the potential to be something special. If he grows a little and develops his outside jump shot, we could be looking at the first guard to be a top 3 pick straight out of high school. Cousin of Phoenix Suns point guard Stephon Marbury. Older brother Jamel Thomas is 6'6" so their is hope that he will hit a growth spurt. Rarely is there a player of his development and skill at such a young age.
