Baseball Hitting Accessories
Donut
Shaped much like the kind of donut you would eat, a batting donut is a metal weight with a rubber covering. Also called a batting ring, this weighted, cylindrical item slides over the handle of your bat, and down to the barrel, where it fastens securely when the diameter of the barrel matches the diameter of the donut's hole. On-deck batters use a donut to add weight to a bat, which helps them loosen up while swinging in the on-deck circle before stepping to the plate. (optional)
What to look for:
The donut should securely fasten itself to the barrel of your bat. If the donut is too wide and does not properly fit on the bat, do not swing the bat with the donut on it.
You should be able to swing the bat fairly comfortably
when the donut is attached. If swinging the bat with a donut attached
causes you any sort of pain,
DO
NOT USE IT
it's doing more harm than good
Batting Tee
Players on all levels of baseball can use this item to practice their swings. Players use the tee to help them concentrate on hitting the ball solidly and in different parts of the strike zone. Simply adjust the height of the tee, place a ball on it, take your stance, and you're in business! (optional)
