Craig was born in Middlesbrough on the 5th of
December 1982. He signed as a trainee for Leeds on the 1st of August 2002 and
came to United on loan on the 5th of October. Craig went immediately into the
first team squad and showed his quality by scoring on his debut in the match
against Torquay. In all he played 9 games in his loan period, scoring 6
goals, including a brace in the LDV Cup win away at Oldham. Clearly
a talent too good to let go United moved to make his
signing permanent and he agreed to a three year deal for an undisclosed fee
on the 22nd of November 2002.
Craig is a strong forward who can hold the ball up, as well as finish. He also shows a calm head and is the most usual penalty taker.
