Leon was born in Wigan on the 17th of May 1981. He joined Everton as a trainee and has risen through the ranks to be named as a sub for the first team on two occasions but has yet to make his Everton league debut. He took part in Everton's pre season tour of Austria and has played in the reserve team for Everton, notably scoring the only goal in Everton's 1- 0 defeat of Manchester United in August.
Leon joined United on a months loan on the 4th of October 2002 and immediately went into the team already showing why Everton rate him so highly. The loan was extended for a further two months and in all he played in 15 games (league and LDV Cup), scoring three times. Possibly his most memorable performance was away against high flying division 2 team Oldham in the LDV Cup. The match was eventually won but United 4-3 after an extra time golden goal with Leon scoring twice.
The 2-2 draw on boxing day 2002 saw Leon make his last appearance for United before returning to Everton at the end of his loan period. United were lucky to have his services, a player who will go on to ply his trade at a higher level. He is an attacking midfielder who is happy to pass or carry the ball and takes every opportunity to shoot for goal.
