Mick was born in Nottingham on the13th of October1974. He signed as a trainee for Notts County on the 15th of June 1993, playing 17 games for them with 4 appearances from the bench. He moved on loan to Gillingham on the 27th of March 97 and the deal became permanent on the 1st of August 97, when he was signed for a £10,000 fee. At Gillingham he made 63 (plus 19 subs) league appearances and scored 6 goals. Whilst at Gillingham he had a months loan spell at Lincoln from the 29th of October 99, making 5 appearances for them. On the 4th of November 99 he moved to Chesterfield in a £15,000 deal. For Chesterfield he made 18 league starts and a further 2 from the bench, scoring once.
On the 2nd of November 2000, he moved to Carlisle, initially on a short term loan. Negotiations to make the loan deal permanent stalled and Galloway was unlucky enough to miss the third round FA Cup match against Arsenal. He signed a deal that would take him to the end of the 2003 season the following week.
Galloway made his debut when Carlisle were at about their lowest point of the season, in the 4-1 away defeat at Brighton. The next game, Southend on the 11th of November, saw Glennon, Connelly and Galloway all making home debuts. It soon became obvious that Galloway gave the team another dimension. The game ended in a 3-1 win, the third goal coming from a Galloway corner that Dobie headed in. At Hull away on the 25th of November despite Carlisle eventually losing the game 2-1, another spirited performance by Galloway gave him his first Carlisle Man of the Match mention. Mick had been ever present in his loan period, 6 leagues games and 2 rounds of the FA Cup. He received the first of his two yellow cards away at Macclesfield on the 16th of December in niggley match where 5 United players get yellows from ref PR Richards. After signing his contract Galloway was back in the side on the 13th of January, a 1-0 home win over Shrewsbury. Mick's only goal and second booking came in the dramatic match against Hartlepool at home n the 13th of February. A superb first half performance by Carlisle saw Galloway score in the 19th minute when he broke through and side footed the ball into the corner of goal with pools keeper helpless. The blues had a thoroughly deserved 2-0 lead at half time, then referee Mr David Pugh took over, sending Prokas off for what seemed a ball winning challenge. Galloway got booked for protesting against this decision. The game ended in a 2-3 defeat and manager, team and fans were left seething at a game ruined by inept refereeing decisions. Mick was to take at least some part in the next 14 games, settling in to his midfield role. His season finished early, in the Brighton 0-0 draw at home on the 21st of April he picked up a knock in the first half and was replaced by Halliday at half time. The injury proved worse than first diagnosed and Galloway missed the remaining games of the season and is still recovering.

Mick didn't feature in the 2001/02 season. His injury from the previous season left him unable to train for some time and he never managed to break into the first team. His one substitute appearance came in the first round of the LDV trophy, away at Port Vale, when he replaced Birch in the 89th minute. After turning down a loan move to Workington he remained in the wilderness until nearly the end of the season when he took a loan move to Gretna.

Mick made a number of appearances, either starting or coming off the bench in early 2002/03, then agreed a months loan at Hereford starting in the first week of October 2002. The loan was extended for a further month but Hereford were unable to make the move permanent. After returning to Brunton Park his contract was cancelled by mutual agreement and Mick moved on to Gretna.
