ROB BOWMAN

It was a long hard season for United, when did you realise we were in a relegation fight?  From the second half of the season onwards. Once you are down there it is very hard to get out.

In the week before the match how did you feel?  It didn't feel much different to the week prior to the last game.

On the morning of the match, did you feel more nervous than usual?  No, not really because we knew what we had to do. WIN.

Even before the game started the crowd was larger and more vocal than previous games. Did that effect you?  If anything it was better because there was more atmosphere and that spurred us on.

We had to rely on Peterborough getting a result at Scarborough. Did you hear that they had scored and early goal while you were on the pitch?   Yes, the crowd got really excited and you knew that Scarborough had gone behind.

When the Dobie goal was disallowed, did you feel it wouldn't be our day?   No, not at all. I had one of those feelings where you know everything is going to be ok.

At half time were you optimistic?   You have to be or else what's the point. It was our football lives at risk.

When Phillips scored for Plymouth what were your feelings?  Disappointed but determined.

Brightwell scored and we were in with a chance, did you feel the game had turned in our favour?  Brightwell's goal gave us a lift and the belief we could do it.

At the end of normal time, Colin Carter could be heard on the tannoy, announcing the Scarborough final score and lifting the crowd to fever pitch. Did you hear the Scarborough score?   No. Certain things were just a blur.

Did you know how close we were to time when Anthony went to take that last corner?   I didn't have a clue just how near it was to time.

When Dobie's header went to the keeper, did you think "game over"?  No.  I saw it drop to one of our players but at the time it didn't register who!

After Jimmy scored, the whole ground erupted, did you fear the match would be stopped?  I was quite worried as there were so many people  on the pitch. All the players were trying to get it clear. I thought there were still a few minutes of injury time left but the ref blew up straight away.

What were your feelings when the final whistle went?  Relief!!  Great feelings of joy and total exhaustion.
