The Christchurch Amateur Roller Skating Club was founded in 1959 and became an Incorporated Society in 1961. It is the longest running active club in Christchurch.
The Club originally used surfaces at North beach, Freeville School netball court and then for several years was based at Sockburn School while funds were raised to build the existing rink at Garvins Road, Sockburn.

Completed Banked Track

The Rink and Banked Track was completed in 1969 and named 'Rollerdrome'.

While membership has never been large, quality skaters have always been the aim of the club.
For many years the club catered for Speed, Artistic and Hockey with many past members who have represented New Zealand.

The Club also boasts skaters who went on to become World Speed Champions.
