West Coast of Peninsula Malaysia strechest from Johor in the south to Perlis in the north bordering Thailand with Pulau Langkawi as the northernmost island along the Straits of Malacca and across the strait is Sumatra(Indonesia).
The best time to dive along the west coast is during the November to March but you can actually dive throughout the year. There isn't many places you can dive around the western coast as the vis is less than average except for Pulau Payar located in the north just south of Pulau Langkawi. As this is a marine park there isn't any resorts or chalets on this island but you can camp.
Other diving location along West Coast are Pulau Sembilan, Pulau Jarak, One Phantom Bank. As most of these location is also famous for the anglers.
The visibility around these islands are from 2m - 15m but you may get better vis in Pulau Payar is you stike a LOTTERY. Please do not expect too much diving around the west coast or you will definately hate this place.
