Christianity

Your Salvation is important if you want to go to Heaven versus hell when you die. You can be saved by simply, but meaningfully, telling the Lord Jesus that you believe He exists and is God's one and only Son sent to Earth to die on the cross and save us from our sins, so that we may be with Him in heaven. The only way you can get into Heaven is by believing this. No matter what anyone else says, there is no other way. The Bible proves this in John 14:6: "Jesus answered, 'I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". You must believe in Jesus in order to get to God, who is in Heaven.

What is a Christian?
The whole Bible includes an explanation on what a Christian should behave like. In a very general summary from the KJV (King James Version) Bible, a Christian should be nice and helpful and loving to all--even his enemies. A Christian should watch his tongue (in other words, watch what you say) and attend church regurarly. A Christian should also read the Bible daily and pray several times a day, thanking God for what you are be thankful for and praying for any needs you or others may have. A Christian should obey the 10 Commandments. This summary of what a Christian should behave like sets standards. I can easily say that there is not a single person in the world who will follow these standards perfectly, because NO human is perfect. For example, some Christians may yell at another person or not read the Bible daily, but that does not mean they won't go to Heaven. God knows we're not perfect, and as long as we put our faith and trust in Him and love Him, He's okay with us not being perfect. Jesus died on the cross to save us from going to Hell--a pitch black place filled with eternal, endless, torture. When you die, if you wholeheartedly believe in Jesus, you'll go to Heaven--a place filled with joy, no sadness, no pain, and no lonliness. Just pure positive fullfillment!

Jesus Loves Even Me?
Yes, God loves the humble, the proud, the handicap, the poor, the rich, blacks, whites--even criminals and murderers. He wants to give everyone the chance to be saved from the burning fires of hell. You may have thought a time or two, "If God loves me so much, why is my life so rotten?" Maybe it's because you are making that way for yourself. If you got very obese, you'd go on a diet in order to improve your health and body, wouldn't you? (I hope so!) It's kinda like that. Make positive changes in your life where it's needed, and what you can't easily change, you sure can pray about. And remember, there is always some one worse off than you. If none of us had problems, we'd never have to come to God for our needs!

But Christians are Pushy and Hypocritical!
Yes, Christians are human too, believe it or not :). We can have bad days. We can be hypocrites, and we can sin. We're human! I believe that some non-Christian people think that Christians think of ourselves as perfect--and we don't! We just try to be good, loving people. Don't take it the wrong way, please! We try to follow God's commandments and teachings, keyword: try; It doesn't always happen. And as for the fact that some non-Christian people think that we Christians are pushy with our religion, it's because we love and care about others. We want to see everyone go to Heaven. I pray that you won't be ignorant when someone witnesses to you. Just give them a listen and hear what they have to say, at the very least. We're only trying to help and do our duty as a Christian. You see, Jesus wants us to witness to as many people as we can. That's our main job here on Earth. Besides all this, I've had MANY experiences, as a Christian, in which aethiests and agnostic people have been pushy with me. I live everyday having to hear people swear or talk about disgusting topics, or act rudely or hateful towards another person. On many counts I've had to defend my own faith. How do you think that makes a Christian feel? Religion is something we ALL deal with.

What's my Reason for Living?
People were placed on Earth for more reasons than I, or anyone else, except for God, knows. It's all part of His plan. But I do know that we are here to praise God and to tell others about Him so that all who believe may go to Heaven and be with Him. Mark 16:15 states (This is Jesus talking): "15 He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.'" (Getting baptized is a way to publicly show people you are saved.)

Is God one being, or three?
God appears in three forms: God the father, God the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. But He's all 1 being. Yes, it's even confusing to Christians. The first thing ya gotta understand is that we're human, so we're not going to fully understand this! :) But think of it this way. An egg has three parts: the yolk, the egg white, and the shell, but they all make up what we call an 'egg.' It's the same concept with God.

Prayer
Praying is easy and fun! It's your personal time with the King of kings, so make it come from your heart. A simple and general prayer could start with something like, "Dear Lord Jesus" then go on to ask for prayer requests and praises, and end with "Amen." It's really that easy! There's no right or wrong way to pray. God just loves when you talk to Him! If you have a burden in your life, come to Jesus! He will help you out. Keep in mind though that prayers aren't always answered right away. You may pray for something for years until it is answered, but don't give up hope. If you really want that prayer to answered, you should keep praying from your heart on a regular basis. Jesus will see how much you want that certain prayer answered and will tend to it if it is His desire. Jesus may not answer some prayers because He has His own plans for you, and your prayer request may not work out into His plan for you.

(20) But store up for yourself treasure in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. (21) For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
