The Freight finished atop a 24-team field at the 2005 edition of the Altamont 4th
of July Tourney, improvinng their record to 18-11. The Freight have now won the
Altamont Tourney 3 years in a row and 4 of the last 5
years.
Alan Meinhart, who earned his team-leading 7th win in the semifinals, was named the tournament's Most Valuable Pitcher.
Player/Manager Rich Well was named the Tournament MVP.(The team's 5-0 run included a pair of 7-0 wins in the tournament's first weekend.)

Freight Recap: The Wolfpack scored first in the top of
the 1st. The Freight came right back and scored 3 as
Simmons 1b, Moore HBP and Well hit a 3 run HR. The
Wolfpack scored 1 in 3rd and 1 in the 5th to tie the
score. The Freight scored 2 in the bottom of the 6th
as Moore hit a 2b, Well RBI single and Buscher scored
on a double steal to make the score 5-3. The Wolfpack
put guys on 2nd and 3rd with no outs but Meinhart
struck out 3 in a row, to put the Freight into the
winners bracket championship.
