Vandalia Guaranteed Air Freight dropped both games of a home doubleheader Wednesday night to Altamont Home Center.

Altamont scored eight runs in the first inning of game one, and held on for a 9-6 win. Payton Cloe took the loss.

Austin Hosick led the way at the plate, hitting two home runs in the contest and driving in three runs.

In the nightcap, the Freight fell 5-1 in a five-inning contest.

Vandalia had only one hit in the game, an RBI single by Hosick that scored Jeremy Curll. Nick Casey was the losing pitcher.

The Freight's next game is Friday night at 9 p.m., when they play the Belleville Stallions in the Altamont Fourth of July Tournament.
