High Power Limit

This is the article that started it all. This article is the foundation for power mods, and the one that people have asked the most questions about. It is also one of the hardest to describe. You may have to read it several times to understand it. Once I found out about the HPL of a blaster and how check valves control it, it changed the way I looked at modifications. So many people either attempt to do a mod or tell you to do a mod without even knowing what they are doing. Well, know what your doing. Learn it here, on GNG!

As for the CPS-1000 VS. Xp-310....

I have the CPS-1000, and it is one of the few guns that I am not going to sell. My friend, and spy on our team, has 3 CP-310s. Two have busted tanks, and two have broken guages. Those are not opinions, those are facts.
I like the 1000, its is one of the most balanced guns, balance weight, pumps, shot time, firepower, etc. maybe this is why I like it so much, like the Xp-150. However, when I compared the CPS-1000 to the CPS-1200 (low power version) the CPS-1000 acted like the high power CPS-1200 version, but when I shot the CPS-1000 after using the CPS-12,000, it was like using an MX after firing the CPS-2500. The problem with the CPS-1000 is it's weak high pressure limit(HPL) meaning it doesn't take too much force to get the check valve to open after the gun has been pumped full. This is why most CPS-1000s and 2500's squeal if you pump them too fast...from pumping them too fast, the water would rather go back through the check valve and back into the tank instead of meeting that force in the pressure chamber. You can test your gun's HPL by over pumping it once. If the pump feels similar to regular pumping, that means that it has a low HPL...a gun that would not be too good to power mod, cause then when more pressure is needed to expand the rubber chamber, and the HPL was so close to regular pumping, such that regular pumping and the HPL would be equal when pumping fast, the water would automatically revert back to the tank. If you pump your gun, and the pump automatically just stops in it's tracks, like the CPS-1200, it has a high HPL, a good candidate for a power mod. On a low HPL weapon, there is no 'area' between the regular pressure of pumping and the pressure limit required to move the check valve...they are so close. So don't expect the CPS-1000 to get any more powerful unless modding the check valve(which can be an extremely delicate process) Same thing with the CPS-2500. The CPS-2000s HPL is amazing...you can pump that thing up as fast as you want, no sqealing, no nothin', it just takes it. It needed a strong check valve with holding all that pressure. Next page>>>
