1982 Mercury Black Max 225HP

Here's the 1986 Skeeter Bass boat I pulled behind the Omega for over 5 years. Boat was rated for 150HP Max, that's a legal thing. lol I bought this boat minus motor, we had a 1982 Merc 225HP in the shop that was a trade in with a blown power head. I rebuilt the Power head and did some porting, milled the heads to increase the compression ratio and other things and it made around 275 HP or 250HP @ the prop when I was done. I have been a GM & Dodge technician for over 20 years and I worked as a Marine mechanic for a few years as well, heck I live in Florida. There aren't any dyno's for outboards engines but when I looked and saw the speedo pegged, I knew it was making power. Speedo only went to 70 but I was clocked at 83 and 85mph on a radar gun during a run what brung event on Lake Harris. I miss this boat, I don't know which I miss the most, fishing or racing other boats on the lake. I had a couple of other smaller bass boats that I towed behind the hotrod over that past 25 years or so but this was my favorite.
