This is the hunter's cabin at Kahua, in the Polipoli area. This used to be the main, public hunting grounds for pig and goat. It belongs to the Depatment of Hawaiian Homelands, whose access policy changed a few years ago. The area is now closed to the general public. This is what the inside of the cabin looked like. It slept four and was fully equipped with stove, lantern and cooking utensils. All of the gear was donated by the hunters who used the cabin. Just had to bring your own food and water. Another shot of the cabin showing the surrounding terrain. Signed the Guestbook yet? Please let me know of any problems with this page. smokemeatman@yahoo.com |
