Long Beach won their consolation bracket game over West LA. SF Les Norman tossed in 19 pts for the Vikings, and F Donald Jones had 9 pts and 7 rebs off the bench. But perhaps the most important contribution came from reserve F Mike Scott, who drained 2 threes after West LA got within 7 pts late in the 2nd half. C Jeremiah Thompson had 17 pts and 8 rebs for the Oilers. PF Reggie Johnson had a game-high 12 rebs. But West LA shot just 38% from the floor and took only ONE free throw attempt on the day (a miss on the front end of a 1-and-1 by Thompson).
