Ventura missed their first 11 shots, which allowed Riverside to take an immediate lead on a Coutee 3 and an 11-3 advantage midway through the first half. Ventura never quite caught up though they trailed by between 2 and 5 for much of the 2nd half. Coutee scored 18 pts in the 1st half. Thompson scored 11 and Ayala scored 10 in the 2nd half. West scored 15 pts in the 2nd half. VC had several chances to tie including Love's three-point attempt in the final seconds (which bounced off the rim).
