In the 3rd-place game, Lassen PF Robert Franklin stole the show with an overwhelming performance: 38 pts, 15 rebs and 8 asts in a 90-81 win. Franklin was named to the all-tourney team for his efforts. SF Barry Smith added 17 pts plus a game-high 9 asts for Lassen, and SG Kelvin Ivory had 16 pts and 6 asts. The Cougars (12-6) played their starting five for the entire second half (as well as most of the first half); hence the gaudy numbers.
Merced (8-7) lost despite a remarkable performance by PF Jerome Davis, who went 12-for-12 from the floor en route to a 27-point day. SG Christain Collazo tallied 19 pts with 5 asts and was named to the all-tourney team. PG Jarreau Rasheed added 17 pts plus 7 asts. SF Travis Harvey grabbed 9 rebs to lead the Blue Devils.
