#1-ranked (in the North) Fresno (7-0) jumped out to an amazing 10-0 lead in the first 1:05 of the game en route to a 20-point win over El Camino (2-7) in the day's second game.
It was quite an onslaught, as Fresno stole the ball 3 straight times (and forced another turnover) in the El Camino backcourt. SF Adrian Sanchez scored 7 of those first 10 points, including a three, while SG M'Jumbe Williams also knocked down a three.
El Camino stabilized a bit after that, cutting the margin to 13-6, before Fresno once again created a flurry of turnovers and threes. By the time the half ended, the Rams had a 28-point lead and had already made 11 threes.
Fresno missed 11 of its first 13 shots of the second half to allow El Camino to get the margin under 20, and the lead fluctuated between 15 and 20 most of the second half. By the time it was over, Fresno had 18 threes, 22 steals and a 20-point win.
Sanchez led the Rams with 21 pts (5 threes) and 8 rebs. Williams added 17 pts (4 threes) and 5 steals. PF Anthony Esparza had 13 pts and 2 of those early steals, while SF Geoffrey Clayton came off the bench to contribute 13 pts, 6 rebs, 5 asts and 3 steals in a strong all-around game. Ctr David Lange came off the bench to grab a team-best 9 rebs, while backup PG Anthony Zuniga dished out 6 asts. And Ctr Cedrick Kalombo had one of the most unusual stat lines of the season: 0 pts, 3 rebs, 1 ast, 1 steal and 8 blocked shots.
SG James Chang led El Camino with 21 pts including 4 threes. PF Marcel Montalvan came off the bench to post a double-double with 18 pts and 10 rebs. SF Richard Caldwell added 15 pts and 7 boards. PG Anthony Brown flirted with a quadruple double; he had 9 pts, 9 rebs, 8 asts and 8 turnovers. In all, the Warriors had 35 turnovers.
