Centralia (WA) 77, East LA 71

Centralia of Washington (7-4) held off East LA (5-9), 77-71. Centralia jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first 4 minutes as they made their first 7 shots. East LA rallied to tie but Centralia finished the half on a 10-0 run to lead 39-29 at the break. East LA rallied yet again to take their first lead of the game at 59-58 on a jumper by SF Jamal Cain with 9:05 to play. But Centralia proved stronger down the stretch and pulled away again.

PG Virgil Matthews had a huge game, flirting with a triple-double as he had 20 pts, 12 rebs and 8 asts (and if you want to count his 12 turnovers…). Ctr Sean Russell added 20 pts and 10 rebs plus 4 blocks for the winners. SG Brian Jochim had a strong game as well with 10 pts, 7 asts, 6 rebs and 4 steals. SF Logan Ratcliffe (8 pts), PF Roman Scott (8 pts) and 6th man Tyler Sundby (9 pts) also made solid contributions to the Blazers' cause. Centralia shot 54% from the floor for the game, offsetting their 30 turnovers.

East LA was led by PG Andrew Gomez, who had 20 pts (3 threes), 7 asts and 5 steals. SG Frank Walters had a big game with 16 pts (3 threes) and 6 rebs. SF Eric Smith came off the bench to grab a team-best 11 rebs.
