LA City 95, Chaffey 78

#1-ranked LA City (14-2) scored a dominant victory over #15 Chaffey (7-7), 95-78. LA City jumped out to a 25-6 lead in the first 8-1/2 minutes, and led by at least 30 for most of the game. The Cubs shot 61% from the floor, and outrebounded the Panthers by a 47-32 margin. One statistic that shows how much LACC disrupted the Chaffey offense: LACC's backup Ctr Nashid Beard had more assists (2) than Chaffey's superb PG Sheldon Pace (1).

There were quite a few standouts for LA City, but perhaps the top performance came from SG Anthony Davis. His defense, as always, was outstanding. But on offense, he had a remarkably efficient game, scoring a game-high 20 pts on 7/9 shooting, while adding 9 rebs and 6 asts. He had 2 of the Cubs' 4 three-point shots as well.

Other top LACC performers included Ctr Tony Key (15 pts on 6/7 FGs, 9 rebs, 4 blocks), PF Ismael N'Diaye (18 pts, 9 rebs) and SG Kareem Grant (15 pts off the bench). Beard contributed 10 pts and 9 rebs in addition to his 2 asts, and SF Wayne Arnold added 15 pts and 4 asts. In all, six LACC players scored in double figures, and each made more FGs than he missed. And a seventh rotation player, PG Solomon Brown, registered a game-high 7 asts.

For Chaffey, SF Jason Harris led the way with 16 pts and 4 rebs. Pace added 14 pts. Backup PG Gerald DeVance had 9 pts (3 threes) and a team-best 3 asts.
