In the day's final game, host Allan Hancock (5-7) toppled Hartnell (8-5). SG Donte Williams led the way with 18 pts and PF De'Auonte Johnson added 17.
AHC led most of the game, but Hartnell rallied to take a 54-53 lead on a putback by Ctr Yusef Smith with 4:25 left. However, AHC then took control, regaining the lead on a three by PG Kevin Rogers moments later. After a bucket by PG Chris Bailey got Hartnell even at 56, Williams made a FT to give AHC a lead it would hold the rest of the way. D. Johnson scored on a FG+FT 3-point play with 2:23 left to make it 60-56, and Williams made 2 FTs to make it 62-56. SG Ben Paine closed out the scoring in the final seconds as AHC managed to keep the ball away from Hartnell and also managed to avoid being fouled.
Hartnell lost despite a marvelous game by Bailey, who finished with 18 pts, 9 rebs, 6 asts and 6 steals. Smith came off the bench to add 13 pts and 8 rebs. But aside from that pair, the Panthers shot just 29% (13 for 45) from the floor.
