San Francisco 75, Moorpark 69 (OT)

Carlos Mancasola scored 9 of his team-high 21 pts in overtime as #9-N San Francisco edged Moorpark in the consolation final of the 2014 Mountie Classic Sunday at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.

San Francisco (9-3) led most of the game and never trailed in regulation time, opening a 19-point lead just before halftime. Moorpark (7-6) battled back in the second half, tying the score with 9:11 left in the second half. CCSF re-opened a 9-point lead with 3:32 to go, but Moorpark rallied again, tying the score at 58 with 32.4 seconds left in regulation time, sending the game to overtime.

Moorpark took its first lead of the game when Joshua Brooks drained a short jumper 12 seconds into overtime. Mancasola answered with a 3-pointer for San Francisco. Shaquille Moore scored on a runner to put Moorpark back in front moments later. But CCSF scored the game's next five points and led the rest of the way, with Mancasola providing the dagger with a 3-pointer with 1:07 left that gave the Rams a 69-64 lead. Mancasola and Vincent Golson each made 3 free throws in the final 42.5 to finally clinch the win for CCSF.

Early on it didn't look like CCSF would need such late-game heroics to get the win. The Rams made their first six shots of the game, jumping out to a 15-6 lead. The advantage grew to 13 points at 21-8 as Moorpark missed 11 of its first 14 shots. A 3-pointer by Jerrod Nodar pushed CCSF's lead to 32-13 with just under 7 minutes to go in the first half.

Moorpark held CCSF to just two points the rest of the half, but still trailed by 17 points at 34-17 at the break. But in the second half the Raiders rallied and tied the score at 45 with 9:11 left. The tying points came on a lay-up by Justin Eisen after a steal by Moore, but the comeback was fueled by rebounding as Moorpark was outrebounding CCSF 19-4 in the second half to that point.

CCSF pushed its lead back to nine points at 58-49 following a pair of free throws by Julian Harrell with 3:32 left in the second half. But Moorpark battled back again, getting within two points at 58-56 on a 3-pointer by Moore with 2:10 remaining. A basket by Brooks off an assist from Larry Bush with 32.4 seconds left tied the score at 58, sending it to overtime.
