Saddleback 68, Riverside 63

Tourney MVP David Pak scored 6 of his game-high 32 pts in the final 37 seconds to lead Saddleback to a 68-63 win over Riverside in the Championship game. Pak's layup with 37 secs left gave the Gauchos a 64-63 lead, and he not only sank 4 FTs in 4 attempts, but also stole a pass with 5 seconds remaining to stop Riverside's last chance. SG Roderick McGahee also had a steal in the final seconds to preserve the win for the Gauchos.

Saddleback had led 60-55 with under 4 minutes left before RCC rallied behind 6 pts by SG Kyle Myrick. His 2 FTs gave Riverside its first lead of the second half at 61-60 with 1:50 to go, and his layup restored RCC's lead at 63-62 with 1:10 left. Then he stripped Pak of the ball with 49 secs left, but teammate Adrian Walton was called for traveling moments later, giving the ball back to Saddleback and setting the stage for Pak's late-game heroics.

Pak was the only Saddleback player in double figures, and he made all 5 of Saddleback's 3-pointers. Ctr Marcellus Robertson came off the bench to add 9 pts and 6 rebs, while SG McGahee added 6 pts, 4 rebs and 4 asts in a reserve role. Myrick had a very strong game for RCC, scoring 25 pts and dishing out 4 asts, and PG Walton had 8 pts,5 asts and 7 steals. Both were named to the All-Tournament team.
