The scene opens in the Longhorn Coliseum, as the camera switches to the broadcaster's table a few feet from the ring. Shane Carlton and Jesse Duke are seated there. Shane is dressed like a X-Games athlete and Jesse is sporting some ragged old overalls and a light-tan button up shirt, and a red cap.
SHANE - Welcome to the very first Vortex Warfare of 2011! Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce myself and my partner. We are the new broadcast team for CPW. I'm Shane Carlton, and my partner is Jesse Duke. Say hello, Jesse.
JESSE - Howdy there, wrasslin fans. And welcome in to what promises to be a dang good year in the CPW.
SHANE - You said it, Jesse. The CPW has grown so much over the holidays. CPW owner, Jack Demers has really invested alot of time and money to make Continental Pro Wrestling a competitor with its WWO counterparts.
JESSE - Uh, that's right, Shane. But something is happening already. There's some kinda skirmish going on in the back.
SHANE - Fans, we just got word that we are going to switch to a camera in the backstage area to see what the heck is going on.
The scene in the back turns out to be a four-man scuffle. Kevin Von Smith and Golden Assassin are throwing fists, while Mike Von Smith and Diamond Mask are rolling around on the floor. The skirmish is quickly broken up by several security officials and CPW referees. The Von Smiths are trying to get at Diamond Mask and Golden Assassin as they continue to taunt them, but several security officials continue to stand in between them. Finally CPW president, Jack Demers arrives on the scene.
DEMERS - Since you men seem to have some sort of bone to pick with one another. The backstage area is not the place to settle disputes. How about you do it in the ring tonight. Out there where all those paying fans can watch you!
KEVIN V.SMITH - That's fine with me and Mike!
GOLDEN ASSASSIN - We have no objections to where we eliminate these local farmboys. Diamond Mask and I will be there.
DEMERS - Then I'll make it so, gentlemen. Now do yourselves a favor and go back to your locker rooms so I won't have to fine you.
The scene switches back to the broadcaster's table in the arena.
SHANE - What a tumultuous way to start off the show.
JESSE - Uh...I'd agree with you, if I had ary a clue what you just said, Shane.
SHANE - Haha. I mean we are in for one daggone heck of a show today, Uncle Jesse.
JESSE - Uh, one thing, Shane. I'm not your Uncle Jesse. But yes we do have a wingdinger of a show in store for these fans.
SHANE - That's right! Just a quick rundown of the action we have planned. We're going to see the debut of a trio called the "Hot Wheels". We are also going to have a ten man battle royal with the winner to get a title match with the Continental Heavyweight Champion, Bulgarian Blazer during the very first WWO World Pro Circuit card of 2011 later on next week!
JESSE - That's right, Shane. We also will see the match that Mr. Demers just added to the show with Kevin and Mike Von Smith taking on Diamond Mask and the Golden Assassin! And to top it all off, we have a championship match for the main event. The Continental tag team champions, the Ruthless Freaks will be defending against the Orient Express!
SHANE - That plus more including our opening match, Jesse. Let's go to the ring announcer to set us up for it!
DALLAS HOUSTON vs. PRETTY BOY MCCRAY
SHANE - That was a good win for Dallas Houston, Jesse. Now let's go to this pre-recorded interview by the Continental Tag Team Champions, the Ruthless Freaks!
In a dark locker room illuminated only by a rack of candles, the eerie painted faces of Oddity and Mutation emerge beside the glow from the candlelight as "Freak on a Leash" by Korn plays quietly in the background. Oddity begins speaking in a low deliberate tone.
ODDITY - The deep-rooted scars that I keep locked away in the depths of my carnal brain are unmatched by anyone in the CPW. The flames of anger and hatred remain unquenched in my dark skorched heart. Visions of headless gingerbread men dance in unison in my head. They form a circle around the hopes and dreams I had as a youth, which are now burning like a bon-fire. All this pent-up rage I must unleash on two foolish beings known as the Orient Express. The lack of foresight that these imbeciles posses have only destined them to that same fate of the innocent childhood dreams that now crumble in a char-broiled heap at the foot of my consciousness.
Oddity closes his eyes and remains silent. Then Mutation begins to speak in a raspy voice.
MUTATION - We ain't here to play nice or represent the CPW as honorable athletes. We're here to cause pain. Me and Oddity have had pain all of our lives. Nobody cared. Nobody asked us if we needed help. When we was sitting there in that orphanage watching couples come in and adopting all the other kids around us. We didn't cry. We didn't ask why. When that jerk from the Big Brother/Big Sister agency decided he didn't want to be my big brother afterall, and he ditched me at the little league tryouts, I didn't wimper like a throwed-away puppy! NO! Me and my brother, Oddity never questioned anything that has happened to us! (slight pause as Mutation lowers his head....then he lifts it again and glares directly into the camera).....BUT,...We didn't forget none of it neither! NO.......WE...DIDN'T.....FORGET...ANY OF IT! Orient Express......say your prayers, boys! Say them quickly!
The promo ends, and the scene cuts back to the action in the arena..........
SHANE - Alright, Jesse. Those Ruthless Freaks sound very bitter, and very unstable!
JESSE - I do get the impression that they are a might addled, Shane.
SHANE - So do I, Jesse. Now it's time for our next match, and the debut of a new six-man tag team. Let's go to the ring!
NEET STREETER, SPOILER SPORT & BAJA BREAKER vs. MONROE, JACK & JOE CLARK
Baja Breaker starts out the action against Joe Clark. Breaker seems very energetic and really frustrates Joe Clark from the get-go. Baja Breaker's mask matches his personality, as he really gets the crowd going and the Texas fans eat it up. The Clarks continue to get frustrated. Breaker tags in Spoiler Sport, who seems a little more reserved, but very skilled and just as strong as Breaker. The Clark brothers keep tagging in and out, but can't seem to get any consistent offense going. Neet Streeter tags in for his team, and he appears to be the strongest of the Hot Wheels team, which doesnt seem to have a weak link. Monroe Clark gives it a go against the big guy, and even though Monroe is the strongest of the Clark brothers, he can't move the big guy around very much. The Clark brothers' attempts at underhanded tactics fall short, and Neet Streeter finally finishes the match, as he tags in Baja Breaker. But instead of climbing thru the ropes, Breaker climbs to the top turnbuckle. Spoiler Sports quickly slips into the ring. Neet Streeter grabs Joe Clark and whips him into the ropes, then catches him in a bearhug as he comes back. Spoiler Sport bounces off the ropes and jumps into the air and levels Joe Clark with a clothesline knocking him from Neet Streeter's grasp, flat on his back on the mat. Then the legal man, Baja Breaker, leaps from the top turnbuckle with a tremendous frog splash, crashing on top of Joe Clark. Baja Breaker hooks the leg of Clark, even tho it doesnt seem necessary. Then the referee starts the count. Neet Streeter and Spoiler Sport run over to keep Monroe and Jack Clark from interfering with the pinfall. The ref counts.....1....2....3! The Hot Wheels get the impressive debut win!
SHANE - That was an impressive win by the new six-man tag team of Spoiler Sport, Baja Breaker, and Neet Streeter, Jesse!
JESSE - It absolutely was, Shane. While I'll bet these fans will be hankering to see this team again real soon. Those guys don't piddle around in the ring.
Following a commercial break, the program returns and a women's Covergirl title match is set to take place.
CPW COVERGIRL TITLE MATCH
STAR BLAKE vs. SIERRA -- Champion
Sierra makes her entrance with the Covergirl title around her waist. She stops at the top of the stage and does a little choreographed routine, then proceeds to walk down to the ramp. The whole time she sneers at the fans and wisks them away with a dismissing motion of her hands. Both ladies lock up in the ring, and Sierra quickly takes a cheap shot to get the upper hand in the match. For the next 3 minutes the match goes back and forth. Sierra hurls Star Blake thru the ropes to the floor. The fans boo as Sierra mocks them by putting her hand to her ear as if she can't hear them. Star Blake pulls herself upon the apron and Sierra walks over to attack. But Star Blake gives a shoulder thrust to Sierra's abdomen thru the middle rope, then she slingshots herself over the top rope, attempting a sunset flip on Sierra. But Sierra is holding on to the top rope.
Suddenly from the back, Tawny Tempest comes running down the ramp. She climbs up on the apron and nails Sierra with a fist to the jaw. This causes Sierra to lose her grip on the ropes and Star Blake is finally able to pull Sierra over into the sunset flip. The referee didn't see it because he was focusing on Star Blake. The referee drops down and counts the pin.....1....2...3! Star Blake becomes the new CPW Covergirl Champion!
The referee hands Star her new title belt, while Sierra sits up holding her head in pain. Sierra glares out at Tawny Tempest who is standing there with a satisfied smirk on her face. Star Blake notices Tawny standing there, and she seems baffled. Star asks Sierra what happened. Sierra just climbs back onto her feet, and yells at Star Blake to just shut up and get out of her face. Tawny Tempest disappears behind the stage curtains at the top of the ramp as Sierra starts to climb out of the ring. Star Blake brushes her hair back out of her face, and looks over at Shane Carlton, and shrugs her shoulders.
SHANE - Jesse, I can't believe the way this match ended. And the same goes for the new Covergirl Champion, Star Blake. Obviously, Tawny Tempest has some sort of vendetta against the former champion, Sierra.
JESSE - Well there is somewhat of a history between those ladies over the PWA World Six-Woman's Trophy, Shane. I just don't see why in tarnation, she felt obliged to cost Sierra her Covergirl title.
Following another commercial break, this one about the new ARRGH! supplements from the makers of "Reppin' With Rip" DVD's, Vortex Warfare returns.
SHANE - Jesse, we have more action in the ring. It's time for the grudge match that CPW President, Jack Demers signed earlier tonight!
JESSE - That's right, Shane. The Von Smiths are taking on Diamond Mask and the Golden Assassin!
SHANE - Let's go to the ring!
KEVIN & MIKE VON SMITH vs. DIAMOND MASK & GOLDEN ASSASSIN
Golden Assassin turns around as he hears the fans cheers get louder. Golden Assassin is suprised to see Mike crawling and he tries to reach down and grab him, but with a sudden burst of desperation Mike Von Smith goes into a diving roll, evading the outstretched grasp of Golden Assassin. Mike rolls into his corner and makes the tag to Kevin Von Smith! Kevin hurls himself over the top rope into the ring, and begins landing a barrage of haymakers on Golden Assassin. Diamond Mask jumps into the ring and gets leveled with a big fist from Kevin Von Smith. Then Kevin turns around and slaps the patented "Von Smith Claw" onto the head of Golden Assassin!! Diamond Mask goes over to help his partner, but Mike Von Smith enters the ring to even the odds. Mike is still winded and weakened, and so Diamond Mask has no trouble throwing Mike Von Smith thru the ropes to the floor, where Mike appears to land head-first!
Kevin sees this, and releases the claw-hold from Golden Assassin and slaps it on a charging Diamond Mask! Golden Assassin regains his composure and sends a big boot to the rib cage of Kevin Von Smith. Kevin releases his claw-hold on Diamond Mask, and crumples to the mat holding his rib area. Golden Assassin picks Kevin up and delivers a vicious back-breaker. Just as the referee had forced Diamond Mask to exit the ring, Golden Assassin tags him back in. But Golden Assassin picks Kevin up first, kneels onto one knee, and places Kevin with his lower back across his knee. Diamond Mask had already climbed to the top turnbuckle. Diamond Mask leaps into the air and acrobatically tucks his head and feet into a ball, does a 360 spin in the air, and comes flying down with a forearm smash across the chest of Kevin Von Smith, which also hurts his lower back as it is laying across Golden Assassin's knee. Diamond Mask covers Kevin Von Smith for the pinfall.....1....2.....3! Diamond Mask and Golden Assassin win!
SHANE - That was a tremendous match, Jesse. Kevin Von Smith was impressive, but he had a rough go in there at the end with the teamwork of Diamond Mask and Golden Assassin.
JESSE - That's for certain. Mike Von Smith just wasn't up for a match like this just yet. He's still a little wet behind the ears, but you can see the potential in him to be just as talented a wrestler as his older brothers.
SHANE - Well said, Jesse. Fans, we now would like to present with this pre-recorded interview by the Continental Heavyweight Champion, Bulgarian Blazer!
The video opens outside. It's a sunny day with the scene on a ranch somewhere in Texas. Bulgarian Blazer is walking through a large field. Off in the distance, a herd of cows can be seen grazing. Bulgarian Blazer stops and turns to look at the camera. He is holding a microphone in one hand, and the other hand is grasping the Continental Heavyweight title on this shoulder.
BULGARIAN BLAZER - You know what I hate about Texas? Besides the fact that the people here are all idiots? It's the fact that you have these people that own these cattle ranches. Then you have others who have oil fields. Then there's the group of people that like high-school football and NFL football. The only good thing that ever happens around here is when one of those big F5 tornados come and blow it all to smithereens!
Take a look at all those cows out there in the fields. They remind me of all the wrestlers in the CPW. The ones that think they want to try and take this Continental Heavyweight title from me. Well it's not ever gonna happen! Because I'm just like one of those destructive tornados. I'm gonna destroy everything that gets in my path. I'm gonna make the CPW roster look like a trailer park after an F5 just wiped it off the map!
And so Jack Demers, the almighty president of the CPW calls me on my cell phone yesterday. He tells me that I'm suppose to defend the Continental title on the big WWO televised show. He tells me he's gonna have a battle royal to find my challenger. Then he asks me to do a little interview so he can show it on the Vortex Warfare program. Yeah, I shoot a promo on video and send it in to the show! That way all your little wrestlers won't have to worry about seeing me roaming the arena! Cause you know there isn't a man on the roster brave enough to get in the ring with me! I'm the Bulgarian Blazer! And it don't matter if it's Mighty Man, or if it's Golden Assassin. I don't even care if it's Leatherface! I'll destroy anybody that gets in my way!
Then, when I get done wiping out everybody in the CPW. I'm gonna set my sights on the WWO World Heavyweight Title. Then all you Texas idiots can have your dumb old state back. Who else would want it? What a dump!
With that last remark, Bulgarian Blazer throws the microphone on the ground, and walks off down the field, and the video ends.
SHANE - Harsh words for the state of Texas, and the entire roster of the CPW from the champion, Bulgarian Blazer.
JESSE - It's a dog ugly shame what that Bulgarian said about the great and proud state of Texas, Shane. DAD-BURN, HIM!
SHANE - Easy there, Jesse. Speaking of the battle royal that Bulgarian Blazer was referring too. We are just about set for it. It's a 10-man battle royal with the winner to get a title match with Bulgarian Blazer on the WWO's program, World Pro Circuit!
JESSE - I just hope whoever wins this thing, makes Bulgarian Blazer eat those words of his!
10 MAN BATTLE ROYAL
FEATURING: BIG WILLIE STYLE | ORNERY OILER | NORRIS | LEATHERFACE | MIGHTY MAN | ROCKDUST | SIMI THE SAILOR | DAVID VON
SMITH | PICKAXE PETE | SUN RAIDER
The action is intense as the 10 giant men clash in the center of the ring. Big Willie Style goes after Simi the Sailor and rams his head into the cornerbuckle. Mighty Man sets out after Leatherface, and both men exchange punches in the center of the ring. Rockdust and Norris form a temporary alliance and try to heft the Ornery Oiler over the top rope. The Sun Raider nails David Von Smith with a big clothesline, sending him hard to the canvas. Pickaxe Pete lends a hand to Norris and Rockdust in their attempts to get the Ornery Oiler over the top rope, but the Oiler is still holding on.
Simi the Sailor nails Big Will with a hard right. He tries to follow it with another, but Big Willie Style blocks this one, and delivers a hard forearm smash to the jaw of Simi. Then Big Willie Style hefts the big Sailor onto his shoulders in the same manner as a torture rack, then he walks over to the ropes and sends Simi the Sailor over the top, crashing hard to the floor. Meanwhile, Leatherface whips Mighty Man into the corner, but Mighty Man uses his quick reflexes to climb up the turnbuckles instead of crashing into them. But as he is turning his body around to prepare for an aerial attack, Leatherface comes crashing into him, taking his feet out from under him, and Mighty Man falls from the top turnbuckle to the floor.
Sun Raider inadvertently comes to the aid of Ornery Oiler, and grabs Pickaxe Pete from behind, and hurls him over the top rope to the floor. But David Von Smith runs over and helps Norris lift Ornery Oiler on over the top rope, and the big man from Oil Trough, Texas creates a loud thud as he lands on the coliseum floor! Rockdust nails Sun Raider from behind with a forearm. But Sun Raider turns the tide, and within a matter of seconds he sends Rockdust over the top rope, and eliminates him from the battle royal. Norris is a little winded now after exerting so much time and energy in trying to eliminate Ornery Oiler, and Leatherface quickly closes in on him. Norris still has enough strength to land a couple punches that stun the Texas Heavyweight champion, but as Norris goes for a spinning heel kick, Leatherface ducks under and picks Norris up off the mat, and tosses him over the top rope!
Big Willie Style sees Leatherface standing across the ring where he just eliminated Norris. Then Big Will yells out at Leatherface. The scary masked man turns and Big Will charges at him. Big Willie Style lands a big running clothesline that connects. But the momentum carries both Leatherface and himself over the top rope to the floor. Both men are eliminated. A fight between the two ensues outside the ring. Several security officials run in to break it up.
This leaves David Von Smith and the Sun Raider to battle it out. Several hard punches land for both men, and both escape near-attempts at being eliminated. And finally after 3 more minutes of fighting, David Von Smith finally sends Sun Raider over the top rope with a running drop kick. David Von Smith wins the battle royal!!
BATTLE ROYAL RECAP
SHANE - What an impressive win for David Von Smith, as he dropkicked the big Sun Raider over the top rope! He will go on to get a title match for the Continental Heavweight belt held by the Bulgarian Blazer.
JESSE - I can't wait to see David Von Smith, a homegrown tall Texan go after that Bulgarian Blazer and make him pay for all those things he said about this great state. The entire U.S. of A. will be cheering him on!
SHANE - They call David Von Smith, the Yellow Rose of Texas! I'm sure he took a big offense to the champions remarks earlier. Now let's get things set for our main event, Jesse. The Continental tag team champions are up next!
********MAIN EVENT*********
CONTINENTAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
ORIENT EXPRESS vs. RUTHLESS FREAKS -- ChampionS
The bell sounds and Dragonfly starts off against Oddity. Dragonfly delivers a quick chop to the chest of Oddity, Oddity didn't even try to deflect the blow. He just allowed his body to absorb it. Dragonfly follows it up by whipping Oddity into the ropes, and Dragonfly jumps and spins to deliver one of his signature Rolling Sobat kicks, but Oddity stops in his tracks and catches Dragonfly's foot in the air, then delivers a sharp painful kick to the hamstring of Dragonfly. Dragonfly falls onto his back with Oddity still grasping his ankle. Oddity delivers several more kicks to the thigh and hamstring area of Dragonfly's left leg. Oddity tags in Mutation, who grabs Dragonfly's other leg, and they try to break him apart like a wishbone. Mutation picks Dragonfly up and slams him back down hard on the mat. Dragonfly is in pain. Mutation grabs a handful of Dragonfly's hair and picks him up to his feet, then slings him into the corner towards his partner, Giant Bull. Mutation barks at Dragonfly to tag in his "bloated partner".
Giant Bull climbs in the ring with all the menacing look of a 400-lb plus man should have. Mutation charges forward with his arms in a double-axehandle position, but Giant Bull catches Mutation in the gut with a big boot. Then Giant Bull smacks Mutation across the chest with a big hand, knocking him off his feet. Then with deceptive big man speed, Giant Bull lands a running elbow drop that takes the wind out of Mutation. Mutation lies in the center of the ring writhing in pain. Then Giant Bull yells to the crowd, who respond back with cheers! Giant Bull grabs the legs of Mutation and slaps on his favorite submission hold, the Boston Crab. Mutation roars in defiant pain as Giant Bull sets his weight onto the lower back of Mutation while pulling on his legs relentlessly. Oddity has seen enough, and comes in for the save. A boot to the back of the shoulder causes Giant Bull to release the hold. Dragonfly charges into the ring, but the referee stops him and forces him back to the corner. Oddity drags Mutation over to their corner, then steps out of the ring. When the referee turns back around Oddity makes the tag to Mutation, who rolls under the bottom rope after making the tag.
Giant Bull is just now getting back to his feet, and Oddity nails him with a hard fist. Giant Bull continues to get to his feet however. Oddity delivers a hard boot to the big gut of Giant Bull. Then he grabs the Bull and whips him into the ropes. And just as Giant Bull is bouncing back Oddity delivers a running high-knee to the head of Giant Bull. The hit stumbles Giant Bull backwards, and he falls between the top and middle ropes to the hard concrete floor!! Dragonfly jumps down to check on his partner, who appears to be too groggy to get up. He appears to have hit the back of his head on the floor. Oddity yells for the referee to start the count out. Since Giant Bull was the legal man, Dragonfly can't enter the ring without being tagged. Giant Bull makes it to his knees, still groggy, but by then the referee finishes his count, and the Ruthless Freaks win by count out!
SHANE - The Ruthless Freaks retain the Continental tag team titles by count out!
JESSE - Well, I ain't never seen nothing so low-down as the way they won that match, Shane.
SHANE - Well, Jesse. It's part of the rules. Giant Bull was unable to get back into the ring in time, so the Ruthless Freaks pick up a title defense, and remain the top team in the CPW.
JESSE - Well, I'd just like to see how those "freaks" would fare in a good ol' fashion barnburner of a fight with the Texas tag team champions, the Ozarks!
SHANE - Wow, Jesse! Who went and made you booker? Haha!
JESSE - Well, you know. I may not look like the office type, but I know a good matchup when I see it.
SHANE - Sounds like it would be a heck of a fight, Jesse. But I'm not sure how likely that matchup is to happen anytime soon. But that was our main event, folks. And all good things must come to an end, at least for now. Don't forget to catch the WWO's big World Pro Circuit program coming up later this week. The CPW's Continental Heavyweight Champion, Bulgarian Blazer will be defending his title against tonight's battle royal winnner, David Von Smith!
JESSE - I can't wait. I'll be watching it on the tube back at the farm with my nephews, and my niece Daisy.
SHANE - For Jesse Duke, this is Shane Carlton saying goodnight to all of you out there in TV land. We'll see you next time on Vortex Warfare for more great Continental Pro Wrestling action! Catchya on the flipside!
JESSE - Ya'll tune in next time! YeeeeHawwwww!
