Continental Pro Wrestling is under new ownership, being purchased by multi-millionaire, Jack Demers. Demers would make several big announcements during tonight's Vortex Warfare. The first big announcement was that the CPW is now an equal partner in the Worldwide Wrestling Organization sanctioning body. The second, that all of the CPW's title belts would be defended on tonight's card. Several debuts took place tonight, as Demers had been a busy man signing new talent as part of his strategy of upgrading the CPW. Sierra was first up, successfully defending her Covergirl title against Allison. No doubt, Demers is hoping to lure more-established MPW women superstars to the CPW shows in future shows.
The women's in attendance tonight all fell head over heels for Rancel Brown and Steve Jegal, as they also did for the Von Smith brothers. The Von Smiths are local heroes from the great state of Texas. They defeated another brother trio, the Clarks, whom are from Canada. In the first title-change of many tonight, it was Golden Assassin taking out the Sun Raider in most impressive fashion. The Ozarks would have a tough title defense against another new tag team, Projecto & Shocker. Once again, the women loved the new tag team, and the kids also took a great liking to them as well. However, the match would end in a time-limit draw. Setting up a possible rematch in the future.
Leatherface would make short work of Pretty Boy McCray to retain his Texas title. McCray, an accomplished amateur wrestler, was on defense mode from start to finish. He couldn't handle the power and fierceness of Leatherface. Slasher & Smasher took on the newest team to sign with the CPW, the Ruthless Freaks. The Freaks....were quite unusual, and gave strange interviews before the match. This may have been the match of the night, and the Ruthless Freaks would shock the Armstrongs, and take their Continental tag straps with their impressive tag team chemistry.
The Main Event saw Mighty Man taking on the challenge of the Bulgarian Blazer. The Blazer had not appeared on a CPW show since the very first event took place back on June 19, 2010, when he fought in the Battle Royal for the Bunkhouse Stampede title, now known as the Prairie Heavyweight title. It took five men working together to toss the Blazer out of the ring that night, as RJ Gold, Red Sheet, Smasher Armstrong, Thrillio, and Dallas Houston teamed up briefly to get the big wild man out of the ring! The Bulgarian Blazer had been back in Bulgaria due to issues with his USA visa. Demers helped to clear that up, and brought what he considers one of his "franchise" wrestlers back to Texas, and it proved to be a smart investment, as Bulgarian Blazer would defeat the All-American hero, Mighty Man, and become the new Continental Heavyweight Champion!
