The scene opens in the office of Cliff Rickond. He is sitting at his desk and watching eagerly as two large muscular men each with long green hair sit on the other side of the table with pens in their hands. Each man signs his name on a contract then hand the contract to Cliff Rickond. Rickond looks over the papers and smiles. Then he shakes hands with both men. "We are very happy to have you aboard. How would you guys like to wrestle next week?"
Rickond smiles and nods as the two men stand up and leave the office. Then Cliff Rickond nervously taps his fingers on his desk as he sits back in his leather chair. This will cause quite a backlash in the locker room when all the other tag teams find out about it. The scene fades from the office to the packed Dojo Dome as Turnbuckle Taboo hits the airwaves!!
"Sure thing. We are anxious to get things rolling."
"Excellent, gentlmen. I'll set up a match and send the contract over for you to sign. Anyone in particular you would like as a 'starter match' shall we say?"
The two men whisper to each other, and then Kelesis Green speaks up.
"Yeah. Me and my brother want to fight Jaguar and Cougar in a title match."
Cliff Rickond stutters in disbelief.- "Y..You guys want a title match right off the bat?"
"Listen. Me and my brother turned down a very hefty Hollywood movie contract to fly over here and sign for less than half the money. Just because we like to fight." - Kelesis says while his brother Samson nods.
Rickond opens his mouth and then closes it. Then he looks at both men staring back at him intently. Then he finally speaks..."O..okay. Well, Jaguar and Cougar already have a title match set up next week against Bear Hugger and Mad Clown. But I su-.....I suppose I could make it a Triple Threat Tag Team match for the International tag team belts. Afterall, it took alot of doing to get you guys signed before the PWA got a chance."
"Thank you. Me and my brother both thank you. Me and my brother are going to make alot of money for your company, Mr Rickond. You won't regret giving us this title match."
Garn & Beastmaster vs. Samurai & Shogun
In the opening match it was the newcomers, Garn and the Beastmaster capping off what was a very entertaining start to the show. The tag team competition in the CWI is super incredible at the moment. And these two teams epitomize tag team chemistry. In the end, it was the size and strength of Garn who set up the win for his team. Following the match, Super Ninja was awaiting atop the entrance ramp to greet Samurai and Shogun. They both bowed their heads in humiliation to their leader. Super Ninja spoke some stearn words in Japanese before turning to walk away. Samurai and Shogun followed.
Golden Hulk vs. Soda Popinski
It is to a big night potentially for the Mat Maniacs with two members in the semi-finals of the Asian TV tourney. But first, the newest and largest member, Golden Hulk, would represent the Maniacs in a singles match against a newly signed superstar from the Soviet Union.....Soda Popinski. Popinski got the upper hand early on. Every time he would knock Golden Hulk off his feet however, Popinksi would only stand in the middle of the ring and laugh while staring down at his opponent. A very big mistake against a man the size of Golden Hulk. The Hulk turned things around in a hurry and made the Russian pay for his arrogance. When the dust had settled on a very tough match, Golden Hulk was victorious. Possibly a good sign for things to come later on in the show.
Thundering Mantis & Blazing Lotus vs. Super Ultimates(Doom Knight & Macho Destroyer)
The Super Ultimates made their first appearance during the main event of last week's show when they emerged from the audience to aid their partner, L.A. Destructor. Tonight they made their in-ring debut against some worthy opponents. However Thundering Mantis and Blazing Lotus came up way short against the former MPW World tag team champions. Doom Knight and Macho Destroyer sent a statement to the rest of the tag teams in the CWI with this impressive victory. The Super Ultimates win easily in 3 minutes and 17 seconds.
Semi-Finals -- Asian TV Title Tournament Match
Karate Fighter vs. Tunnel Runner
Karate Fighter was coming into tonight's matchup with alot of steam. The newly announced Spotlight Star of the month for the CWI, was hoping to be the first of two Mat Maniac members to advance to the finals of the Asian TV title tournament. And early on he looked sharp. Karate Fighter has really worked hard coming off an ankle injury that had him sidelined for a month. Say what you will about their tatics sometimes, but the Mat Maniacs have proven to be one of the elite groups in pro wrestling. However Karate Fighter had seemably ran into a brick wall in this match against Tunnel Runner. The masked man made short work of Mr Fashion last week. This week wasn't as easy, because Karate Fighter exploited alot of Tunnel Runner's weaknesses. But despite his impressive kicks and punches, not to mention a little bit of help from Pirahna on the outside, he just couldn't pin the monster known as Tunnel Runner. Tunnel Runner clobbered Pirahna for sticking his nose into the match once too often. Then he finally caught Karate Fighter with his finisher, the Maze Chomper. Tunnel Runner advances to the championship match of the tournament next week!
Semi-Finals -- Asian TV Title Tournament Match
Coco Savage vs. Jumbo Flapjack w/Fuji Hakuji
It was another classic matchup between the Mat Maniacs and Hakuji Incorporated. So it was no suprise of the mayhem that ensued throughout the match, on the outside of the ring. Several members from each faction decided that it would be wise to flank one side of the ring to make sure things stayed fair and square. However, the referee paused the action in the ring and ordered that everyone go back to the locker room or BOTH wrestlers would be disqualified from the tournament. Kirk Chaser and Toshibi Kagiro debated on whether or not referee Greg DeFalco had the authority to make such a statement. But it seemed to work nonetheless, as ringside was finally cleared up with the exception of Fuji Hakuji who has the right to be at ringside to manage his wrestler, Jumbo Flapjack. Coco Savage's shoulder blocks normally would knock opponent after opponent onto the mat in frustration. But Jumbo Flapjack is not your average size man. He's more like a mountain or an immovable object. Jumbo was able to overcome the savage hand chops and shoulder blocks to pull off the victory, and advance to the finals of the Asian TV tournament. Jumbo Flapjack gets the win and will meet Tunnel Runner next week in the Championship match! The Mat Maniacs are now completely eliminated from the tournament, after a strong showing. They will definitely be back to fight another day.
All-Japan Tag Team Title Match
Headhunter Express vs. Piston & Edmond Honda w/Fuji Hakuji-champions
Fuji Hakuji would appear to be one of the hardest working managers in the business, as he would be at ringside for his second of three matches in a row. All three involving title belts at different extents. The Honda brothers had originally captured the All-Japan tag title belts from the Crush brothers back on April 3rd. They had kept a vice-like grip on them ever since. The Headhunter Express had fought the battles to earn a title shot. Tonight it would come to fruition. Silencer 7 and Interceptor took the fight to Piston and Edmond Honda. The Honda Brothers were no strangers to competition however, as they had fought several battles against the Warlords. Tonight was no different. It was a battle for sure. One of epic proportions on the tag team scene. And the Honda brothers managed to come out on top once again. Despite their underhanded tatics while being affiliated with Fuji Hakuji, the fact remains that they are proud Japanese athletes. Anyone challenging them for the All-Japan tag team titles will realize just what a daunting task it will be to take away the title belts that represent their homeland. Piston and Edmond Honda get another impressive title defense, even if they did use a few shortcuts in the process.
MAIN EVENT
International Heavyweight Title Match
King Hippo w/Fuji Hakuji vs. David Von Ramrock w/Clover-champion
DVR would be going for his fourth title defense of his International title reign. His opponent, the former All-Japan Heavyweight champion, and the largest member of Hakuji Inc,....King Hippo. Hippo was coming off a tough loss against L.A. Destructor last week when he lost the All-Japan title. However, DVR was more than willing to defend his title against King Hippo following some comments from Fuji Hakuji a few weeks earlier. Hakuji had claimed that DVR had been a mediocre champion, and had been avoiding the challenge of King Hippo. DVR took exception to those remarks, as he remarked to Miki Fukazawa in an interview before the match, "It's hippo season, and I just got my hunting license."
Before the bell even rang, the entrance music "The One" by White Zombie blasted over the speakers of the Dojo Dome. L.A. Destructor walked down the ramp and around the ring while King Hippo and DVR looked on from the ring. Destructor was in street clothes and carrying his newly won All-Japan Heavyweight title. Clover nervously stepped around the ring as L.A. Destructor came around to take a seat at the announcers' desk with Kirk Chaser and Toshibi Kagiro. The bell sounded and the match finally began.
During the match, L.A. Destructor made several derrogatory remarks about both King Hippo and DVR. But both Kagiro and Chaser thought it wise not to challenge his statements. In the ring DVR took some punishment early on, which made Clover scream and grimace every time Hippo would slam DVR to the mat or drop a large elbow. However, DVR is a competitor, and he didn't win the International title in a cake walk. DVR is one of the best in the business. He was a multi-champion in the MPW, and held a death grip on three different titles without ever losing them before he finally left. He racked up title defenses against the elite and top wrestlers in the sport. Including the man at ringside who was trashing him verbally, L.A. Destructor.
DVR got the Japanese fans rallying behind him, and he used that momentum to chop down the massive King Hippo. DVR was landing shot after shot to the large stomach and chin of Hippo. And what brought the house down, not to mention nearly the ring, was when DVR picked King Hippo up and slammed him down hard on the mat. Fuji Hakuji yanked his bow-tie loose and tossed it onto the floor and stomped on it. DVR picked Hippo up to his feet and whipped him into the ropes, then connected with a flying headbutt! Hippo staggered back and fell on his butt in the middle of the ring. DVR ran into the ropes and like a missle shot his body forward head-first delivering a second head-cracking flying headbutt to King Hippo. Hippo fell back onto his back. DVR was a bit groggy himself after that move. But he managed to cover King Hippo for the pinfall......1....2.....3!!! Ding ding ding! DVR succesfully defends his title once again. The fans erupt in cheers, as L.A. Destructor flashes an unimpressed sneer at DVR. Clover runs in the ring with the International title belt and joins DVR. DVR walks over to the ring ropes and gives a thumbs-down to L.A. Destructor. An intense showdown stare lasts for 10 seconds. Then DVR and Clover raise their arms and thank the fans for their support.
Stay tuned next week as a new Asian Television Champion is crowned. Will it be Tunnel Runner or Jumbo Flapjack?........Be there and find out!!
