I'm pleased to welcome all my readers to my long awaited, Ringpost Rumors column. It's been years
in the making, but now it is finally here, and I hope it will be interesting and entertaining so
that you will want to come back and read it every time it is updated. As most wrestling fans know, I
am currently employed as a television analyst for Combat Wrestling International. In addition, I am
also a columnist for Wrestle Mag Illustrated. The latter giving me a vote on the WMI rankings which
haven't been updated in a while, but is coming sooner than you think.
SIX-MAN TAG SCENE
Things are brewing in six-man action as more and more feds are tossing new teams into the pot.
Whereas before it was hard to find enough teams to fill a top ten ranking list, it now appears that
won't be a problem anymore. Manager Jim Rackette led his Assassin Bombs to the six-man title over
the Mat Maniacs a couple weeks ago. The news I have now has already been confirmed that at least one
dominant six-man team has just signed with Continental Pro Wrestling. That team being referred to as
the "Space Monsters", consists of three very large alien-masked men who my sources tell me were
trained by none other than David Von Ramrock. Which makes sense because DVR teamed with the Space
Monsters back in the independent IWA leagues early in his career.
Mace Monster, UniKlops, and the Purple Lava Creature.....all unique names of course, will
definitely stand out in the Texas-based CPW, and the six-man titles might not be the only trophy they
will be chasing. Zangief may have to deal with all three of them in title defenses of his
Continental title. Another team to be rumored in negotiations with the various feds consists
of three more giants, Nes Bloop, Akklaim Spikes, and Dino Trog. The Assassin Bombs will have alot of
quality teams gunning for them now, including the Fire Giants, DP7, Mat Maniacs, and possibly even
the Super Ultimates. But goodness knows, they have enough titles already.
RETURN OF THE JUDO STAR??
Any cWI fan knows my broadcast partner, Toshibi Kagiro. Some of them even know that he use to
wrestle in the IWA under the name "Judo Star" Toshibi Kagiro. Toshibi had a hand in Cliff Rickond's
recent signing of Caveman Hegor to the CWI. Toshibi and Hegor briefly teamed together in the IWA
along with Dynamo Man. Although I have questioned my broadcast partner several times off the air if
he plans on making a return to competition in the ring, he has never given me a straight answer
either way. He is still young, and has never stopped training his Judo. I would wager to bet that he
still trains in wrestling from time to time as well. So what are the odds of Toshibi throwing the gi
back on and getting back in the ring? I'd say, don't be suprised if he does.
BROTHERLY HATE?
Fuji Hakuji threw one out of left field on the 4th of July when he introduced his new tag team
consisting of the Chinese Chopper and Deadly Warrior. The fact they won their debut match in
impressive fashion wasn't the suprise. The suprise was the revelation that Deadly Warrior is Great
Kowbunki's long lost brother. A long lost brother that apparently has a bone to pick...or
break...with his martial arts brother. What kind of mysterious grudge could have been formed within
the Chen family so long ago? What is the ultimate goal of Deadly Warrior? To end his brother's
career? What is Kowbunki's feelings about it? I've never spoken to the Great Kowbunki because he
doesn't speak English. So I have no idea how to get this information. His tag team partner, J
Mystery hasn't spoken a word to the media. So everything remains a mystery for now.
