LEAGUE INFORMATION
MMWA-Mid Michigan Wrestling Association NEMWA-Northeast Michigan Wrestling Association AAU-Amateur Athletic Union MYWAY-Michigan Youth Wrestling Assoc.
NEMWA (North East Michigan Wrestling Association) Central core area is Standish.
Made up of approximately 30 clubs representing over 600 tournament-ready
wrestlers. Tournaments typically consist of @400+
wrestlers. First year costs are $200, $100 thereafter per team. Eight wrestler brackets
are the norm. Age groups are 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 14-15. Age as determined by age as
of Jan 1. Most tournaments are Saturdays with some Sundays available in February. They have specific
weight classes and age groups, these are the same for NEMWA and MMWA.
MMWA (Mid Michigan Wrestling Association) dues are $50 I believe and joining
USA Federation assures being insured. Age brackets are 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12,
13-14 and they have specific weight classes. Ex: 11-12: 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90,
95, 100, 105, 112, 119, 126, 133, HW (15 classes) Tournaments run Jan-Feb. and
cluster around Flint/Saginaw. They offer Sat and Sun tournaments. (only link is Hartland Club...see below)
AAU-typically parental supervised. Quite costly $10 membership fee + tournament fees) but offers
National tournaments. By year of birth. AAU-for more information use link.
MWF-Freestyle-April and May. Need red/blue singlet and @$33 supplies a
membership and insurance. By birth year, ex: 1988-1989 not age of Jan 1.
