A wheat pressure box is a stall in which the horse stands and his
body is covered with wheat. Invented by an American, the box provides
a calming effect on horses of a fearful disposition and is used as
part of their training. The pressure of the wheat produces the calming
effect, which then allows the trainer to handle the horse while it
is not fearful. However, the idea of trapping a fearful horse and
then covering it in wheat may seem quite inhumane to some people.

In the US these devices are used for training mustangs - a subject
in itself quite controversial.
Would these devices help nervous horses who are used to being around
people? Would you allow your horse to be put in a wheat pressure box?
Can the use of pressure be adapted to help nervous horses in other
ways?
