This is a nice picture
of the monster 18-car wreck in lap 146
because it highlights Ken
Schrader (#36), Kevin Harvick (#29) and
"Flaming" Kenny Wallace
(#1) right there in the middle.
Why are these drivers so
special, you ask? They are all on my team.
Well, that was a doozy, wasn't it? Every good driver got wiped out of the race, leaving Ward Burton to race home with the win. Yay. I was feeling sorry for Sharon, who had Jimmy Spencer not make the race and then Tony Stewart's engine fail in lap 2, but then three of my drivers wiped out at once. All four of my drivers were in an accident, and some were in two, if you count Kevin Harvick's fender bender on Mike Skinner on pit row (damn Skinner continues to hurt my team even when I don't draft him). Of course, those five accidents add up to the number of accidents that Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. were each in. Did you hear Jeff Gordon blame Kurt Busch ("...that damn 97 car is a wild man!") for the 17 car wreck in Gordon and Harvick wrecked? Funny stuff. And what was the deal with Junior's car? Was there some kind of shenanigans going on there? How do you rip off the right side front fender, tape a new one on and then fight your way back to tenth? I think they forgot to put their restrictor plate on after that accident. That's okay, though, because he was in about three more accidents after that one. The NASCAR gods were not going to let him win that race.
Well, I'm glad it's over. Leeto had
a great week, scoring 584 points and taking a healthy lead over the Hering
Boys in the Neck Division, while Brian Kennealy paces the Red Division
with a very respectable 507. Only 35 more races to go! Fortunately,
only three more are restrictor plate races. That's not to say that
I think Tim's going to improve on his standing, though. That's a
last place team he's put together.
