For those of you who missed it, race winner Sterling Marlin, was caught speeding on pit row in the middle of the race. That's usually a fifteen second penalty, where you just have to sit still on pit row for 15 seconds when nobody can touch your car or anything while all the other cars get to go back out on the track and gain track position and stuff. Well, apparently there was some mix-up where the official in his pit didn't get the word from the officials upstairs, so they didn't stop him while he was in the pits under yellow. When he got back on the track and it turned green, they didn't stop him because it would have been unfair because he most likely would have lost a lap (instead of going ot the end of the line, which would likely have been the result had he been held fifteen seconds under caution). I understand not giving it to him under green, but the next time the had a yellow, they again didn't penalize him. What the...?!?! Apparently, they felt bad because they penalized him for breaking the rules at Daytona and it cost him the race. Stupid NASCAR. Also, Marlin said his tachometer was working intermittently during the race, and it wasn't working that time he was traveling down pit row. Oddly, it was working every other time he was going down pit row. Afterwards, when questioned about the whether he was telling the truth about the tachometer, he said, "That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Nudge nudge. Wink wink." OK, so I added the nudges and winks, but clearly this is a bad man who should most likely be in a minimum security prison.
Brian and Leeto again held on to their leads.
Well, they actually both had very good weeks (compared to me, anyway),
and both have large leads over second place. I dropped into last
in the Red Division, thanks to Sharon's nice week. Tim is still in
last place in the Neck Division. That's a shocker. In
case you can't tell, that last sentence is written in Sarcasm font.
