Mardi Gras Open 2002

The Mardi Gras Open was a great event.  The weather could have given us a break this year, but why stray from tradition.  The fields were set up as giant commercials.  With large bunkers in the center and logo's on everything, it was a great way to let people know who the giants of the industry were.  The play was a little different this year with the teams only playing other teams in their division.   Our friends Venom put a real effort forward in their first appearance as Pro.   We made our debut as an am team and walked away with some big victories against the Family, Raven Nemesis 1, and Energy Blue.  John and Sparky participated in the one-on-one.  Johns first game was against the player that went on to win the event and in the game he was pulled aside for cheating after the refs were provoked by Bob Long and made to remove illegal layers of clothing and pads during the match.....yet was allowed to play the match again.
