Papa Bear George Halas was a good friend of Leo's. The two first had contact in 1919. They both were in Canton in 1920 to form the league.In Halas's 1963 Enshrinement speech in Canton, he mentions Leo as a true pioneer. When Leo passed away, George said Leo's love of the game never waivered,he was one of the most dedicated to the game.
