Raising The Roof

One warm Saturday night towards the end of May way back in 1999, a sixteen year old lad from Rossington was having trouble sleeping. At about two o'clock in the morning he happened upon the idea of a fanzine to help raise money for the much troubled swimming club to which he belonged. That lad was me, and that fanzine was 'Raising The Roof'

Since June 5th 1999 there have been numerous editions of this fanzine, which was in the beginning an eight page monthly publication. Now the fanzine regularly has about twenty-four pages and is released, well it's released whenever I have enough time to write it.

Accompanying the fanzine's magazine form was a website of the same name. The website, the one you are now reading, yes this one, would not have been possible if it was not for the technical know-how of my friend and former Rosso member sKoT.

The aim of 'Raising The Roof' is to raise money for Rossington Amateur Swimming Club, while having a laugh at the same time. This is an idea which mirrors the ethic of Rossington ASC itself, we know we are not the best club in the world by a long way, but what we are is a average local swimming club that knows how to have a good time.
